Meet the Artist:
Rebecca Kouchit is a visual artist living in Tucson, Arizona.
Rebecca's artwork draws attention to the significance of our ecosystem and how each plant, insect, and human are all connected, dependent.
She breathes in rhythm with the wildflowers waving in the gentle breeze, and tends to capture those moments in her art.
Captured are those quiet moments and times when nature brings calm and serenity. She thoroughly uses her five senses and waits for each moment to inspire her art: hiking in Sabino or Madera Canyon, digging in her garden, feeling the sun setting and rising, listening to honey bees pollinating her lemon tree, catching a single snow flake as it finds its way to Mt. Lemmon.
Because of her desire to live a sustainable lifestyle, her art demonstrates a deep connection to nature and things that grow, produce, and decay. She believes in leaving as small of an ecological footprint as possible.
Her pieces utilize reclaimed, up-cycled, and recycled materials. Her inspiration can, at times, come from things unseen with the naked eye, the microscopic, and the symbolic: A philosophy, an ideology, a wish.
